Oops!
Guess who just checked her husband's AKO account and found some orders to Ft. Gordon??
THIS GUY!!
WOOHOO.
Tomorrow will be a big day of calling the housing office and getting on the waiting list.
Alas, alack, boo hiss, it appears to NOT be a PCS order, since its not for more than 16 weeks...
Perhaps Mr. 2nd Lt. can do some finagling on that when he gets back.
ETA: whoops again. NOT orders, class date reservations.
This is good because it means that a) at least we know when we're going somewhere and 2) we might still get PCSed.
This is bad because we don't know exactly when we're going and because I still can't get on a housing list.
And, thus, we wait.
And I continue not to pack. :)
ETA: Now, Ft. Gordon housing, who called me back, is telling me that we can't live on post because Mr. 2nd Lt's training is only 16 weeks - 20 weeks or more is eligible for housing. And yet, we can't live here.
So, Army, where in the heck do we go?
Sigh.

I feel your pain! Our last move, we could not live on post for reasons stated in your post, and it took 10 days living in a hotel room with 4 kids and a cat to find a house for rent. Sending a prayer your way.
ReplyDeletethanks Jenny, i appreciate it :)
