Three Decades of Old

My husband turned 30 this past weekend and for his birthday, we met my parents at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg for a weekend of fun, per our Wordless Wednesday post.  That marks our third GWL visit (once to NC w/o him during the deployment, once to NC w/ him on redeployment leave, and this trip) and we really love that place. It is super fun - super overpriced - but super fun.

So fun, that my oldest wolf cub split his chin open on the water slide steps and had to go to urgent care for 3 stitches.

Honestly, it could have been way worse.  And, he got a "boo-boo wolf" out of it from the lifeguards, so even with the mishap, it was a wonderful weekend.

My swollen shrek feet from the 4 hour carride weren't as fun, but it all worked out.

In addition to our trip, I also threw him a surprise party two weekends prior for NC friends and folks from his job.  IT was a "30 Blows" Party - Blows bubbles, kisses, whistles, balloons, blowpops and blows up bouncers.

Thus, it was supposed to have a water slide bouncer (because nothing says 30th birthday like a water slide bouncer, right?), but the blower broke after 10 minutes of sliding and then it took Mr. 1st Lt roughly five hours, with the help of *four* other neighbor men, to maneuver the heavy, wet, horribly heavy bouncer back onto the trailer.

That part? Little bit of a nightmare. Luckily, the party was tons of fun :)
