Turns out, fluke thing a prior-service guy told Mr. 2nd Lt., is that if its your first PCS and you have orders from when you started the military, you get (Drumroll, please)
WAIT LIST PRIORITY
That's right folks, we are NUMBER EIGHT on the waitlist.
a FOURBEDROOM, 1900 sq. foot, 2.5 bath, porch and garage duplex.
I'm a) jealous of myself and 2) not even sure what I would do with FOUR bedrooms. Oh and a "living" room and family room - can we say Family Chapel?? :)
But that's ok, I will figure it out!
UPDATE: Ok, we've been bumped twice now, so we're at number 10. Its a little irksome, because one of the bumps was a couple who submitted their paperwork YESTERDAY after my husband told them it was possible they could. What the heck?

ReplyDeleteIf it's one of the new ones, our friends live in one and its beautiful. The bedrooms are all decent size. Garage. Two story. But the downstairs living space is what you'll have no idea what to do with. They have a huge 12 person table in one of the dinning areas and still have room to spare. Its nuts!
ReplyDeleteSara - sure is, the new ones :). and thats what i was talking about - there is a living room when you walk in AND then a family room off the kitchen. so much space!

Yahoo! Don't know how big post is there, but one of the things I LOVED about on-post living at our last duty station was that I could WALK to Mass in 5 minutes. Cue the stroller...and...GO!
