In other happy Catholic news, the US's first black priest has begun the process for canonization.

Don't you love how universal the Church is? :) His story made me weepy (well, that, and the pregnancy) - what a triumph of Christ's love over prejudice and hatred! Rejected by all US Seminaries, and he still continued to seek out God's Will for his life. May we all be so faithful in the face of persecution!

And, don't you love his name? Augustine - that's boy number 3 name for us!

Let's all pray for his intercession today, and who knows?

Maybe yours may be one of his miracles that allows him to be declared a saint!
