And so he did.
We spent the day in Magic Kingdom (and so did most of So-Cal. On a Tuesday. In February. GO HOME PEOPLE) and had a blast. Johnny and Papa rode the Star Tours ride while Joey did a test simulation of the Iron Man suit.
Johnny was selected to train in the Jedi Academy and faced the Dark Side with birthday boy aplomb.
(seriously. priceless. Also, Thank You Disney for the birthday buttons. All day long, Princesses and Jedi alike would wish him a happy birthday when they walked by, it was awesome!)
Rita tagged along for the ride, per usual, and Joey full body slammed Belle during pictures after the story time show at the Castle (which was adorable). Lady has class tho, she took it in stride because, as she said, "She's used to big beast hugs." ;)
They didn't say that she would be available for pictures so we didn't stay inside the storytime Theatre, but when we saw her and tried to go back in (and were denied access by the Belle Bouncers), the manager saw us looking pathetic and let us in. The Birthday Boy was too shy to take a picture, but when I asked Boyo #2 if he wanted to say hi to the princess, he got a big smile and said YESSS! And then he jumped on her. Didn't say a word, just jumped.
Mr. 1st Lt. was so proud. lol
See how I'm talking here? I'm profusely apologizing for almost breaking my favorite princess with 35lbs of preschooler.
We battled aliens with Buzz and ran into Peter Pan on a quiet corner by the Matterhorn. The boys didn't realize who he was at first, it was pretty funny.
Riding the Gocarts. We literally had to sit in traffic at the end of the ride b/c another cart stalled. Traffic. in LA. on the GoKarts.
And, the Frozen chicks, whatever their names are, were on their way to their picture signing station, and walked past us. You have *never* seen a bashful, cow-eyed grin on a young boy's face than my birthday boys, when they saw his button and waved to him and wished him a Happy Birthday. Star struck he was!
The pricetag isn't so much, but the experience really is magical ;)

Very nice, wish we didn't have our version of Fantasy Land here in DC, it's bad enough that reality has set in for all the citizens while the cast members continue to play games.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! I'm glad he had such an awesome birthday... and that Joey is a beast. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love that Joey tackled Belle. This is going to be a hard birthday to match in future years!
