With all due consideration to our lives and schedule (end of summer and baby coming), the US Army was kind enough to host a "family retreat" this past weekend at Myrtle Beach.

My kids aren't huge fans of stranger babysitting (they provide free childcare during the sessions, of which there were only two - Friday night 7-10:30 and Sunday morning 10:30-1:30), so we tried it on Friday and I picked up two not so happy campers around 8:30. I attempted to broach the topic of doing it again on Sunday after Mass and was met with much wailing and gnashing of teeth, so Mama skipped out on the session and took the kids to Ripley's Aquarium (hello 75%off for military!) while Papa suffered/endured/sat in on the session.
And um, they have outlets there.
I'll just leave it at that.

yes, the entry fee for military at that aquarium is unbelievable. My kids don't dig those babysitting sessions either. Well, my daughters do now, because they are usually staffed by young women who know all about friendship bracelets and other crafty things. But the 4 and 6 yo had to be forceably detained.
