Slow down, my son...

My little baby decided that he was a big boy today.

He is at the age of two steps forward, one step back. "I'm a big boy, Mama," he seems to say [without words] which is often followed by a wordless, "Give me lots of snuggles, Mama, I'm still a little guy."

So, today, he decided, all on his own, to take two steps forward. At the mall with friends, we stopped by this bungee-jumping, trampoline gig. They strap you in this waist harness so that when you jump on the trampoline, you can go really, really high.

His little friend, who is about 9 mo. older than him, was very excited to jump.

As soon as my little monkey saw it, he begged and begged to go, so my friend said she would treat him.

My sweet little baby let a stranger take him in the jump area (only jumpers permitted).

He waited patiently to climb on the trampoline.

He even let the woman start putting him in the harness.

And, then, he took his one step back. He looked at me, looked at the worker, and said "No," to come back to me. No jumping today, he decided.

The mama inside me sighed in deep relief - he's not so big afterall. He's still my sweet baby for a little while longer.

Don't worry, Boyo, you can be a big boy tomorrow.
