On this day on which we remember those sweet innocent babes who gave their lives in the very place of the infant Christ child, let us also pray for those babies slaughtered in the modern holocaust of abortion and those in danger of the same.Our Lady of Guadalupe, patronness of the unborn, pray for us!

While it is easy to get lost in the nightmare of what happened to the Innocents, it's to be remembered that they ultimately triumphed! They are Saints of God, as this painting by William Holman Hunt shows. The Innocents are seen with the Holy Family, in spirit, during the Family's Flight to Egypt:
