Signal Corp is the communications branch of the Army - satellites, radios, cellphones, internet, etc etc.
We will be at Gordon for at least 16 weeks, hopefully 20, because then the army will pay to move us! :) And, actually, based on the class dates, we should be at least 20 weeks because the first available class doesn't start until march. so say a prayer! because that would save us some bucks!
WWOOOO!!!! you'll be close to me, and I WILL make a trip to Augusta...lived there for 2 years when my husband commanded the Signal Corps band. Our son was born in Augusta!!!!
When are you headed here???? I'm an hour away. We don't live at Ft. Jackson, or near it (Lexington is 45 minutes away, to the west of the city).
If you're looking for off-post housing, stay away from Richmond County...look in Columbia County - Martinez, Evans, or Grovetown....
I don't know that they'll give you on-post...that's the concern. And quite frankly, it's rather scary housing...again...I've BEEN there, lol! But if you're in housing at Benning, it's much the same....
Our family, and Mr. First Lieutenant in particular, has had a special devotion to St. Sebastian since a WYD Pilgrimage through Rome in 2005. After visiting the catacombs beneath the tomb of St. Sebastian himself, Mr.FL was inspired to write an epic tale of early Christian martyrs, centering around St. Sebastian. Then, once he decided to enter the military, I thought it only appropriate to entrust both this blog and our family to the patron saint of soliders.
Then it's Hi! Hi! Hey! The Army's on its way. Count off the cadence loud and strong For where e’er we go, You will always know That The Army Goes Rolling Along.
