Than a LES?
Yup. That's what I thought.

  1. Okay...
BAH Basic allowance for housing (this is to pay the rent if you live off post...or housing will take this whole amount if you receive quarters on a base).
BAS Basic allowancce for subsistance (to help pay for your husband's meals and can be dipped into by his unit if he is away, deployed, or on some sort of feild assignment...so don't take that one for granted)
Dental allotment...make sure you take advantage of the dental coverage Concord, because you're paying for it.
Allotments...typically an easy ways to automatically give to charities such as those registered with the FCC campaign (and looks like you have some sort of allotment set up). Sometimes folks will set allotments to make payments for something (bills, child support, loan payments, misc). But most NCO's will warn against this when/if you take an Army Family Team Building (AFTB) course...which can be a good intro into the lingo and accronyms of the army world.

  2. HEY! At least he got paid. Our daughter is a Navy ROTC midshipman, and is still waiting to be paid for the cruise she took in July.

  3. wow, anon, that totally sucks.

and don't get me wrong, after being unemployed as a family for over a year, we are DEFINITELY grateful for any last paycheck. :)

Its just hard to know if we're getting the right amount, because its so darn confusing what each box is for!

Its true, comments make my day :)

Please, however, only comment if you can do so in all charity.

This doesn't mean that you have to agree with me - it means you need to disagree nicely!

Uncharitable comments will be deleted!
